The company was established in 2001 by Brian Hughes and Yvonne Brady, both Chartered Engineers. Prior to starting the company, Brian and Yvonne both gained extensive experience in large scale infrastructural projects, and between them have worked on municipal wastewater systems and treatment plants, water treatment and supply systems, motorway grade roads projects, and marine works. This experience was gained from both client and contractor perspectives.

Since start up, the company has grown to encompass a wide and varied range of expertise and experience, with engineers, architects, technicians, and administration staff employed. We have been involved in a variety of large-scale developments, most notably the engineering and architectural design of Sienna Valley in the North Drogheda Environs, Co. Louth

We aim to deliver excellent service and value to our now very broad range of clients, who include - large residential and commercial property developers, Local Authorities, public bodies, land owners, speculators, and private individuals. Our mission is to provide clients with a complete quality range of engineering services designed to maximize the potential of any given project. Our success in this endeavour was acknowledged in 2010 by Drogheda and District Chamber of Commerce who awarded Brady Hughes a Business Excellence Award. 

Brady Hughes consulting has worked extensively in the civil and structural engineering design and construction sectors. Our engineering staff are a highly qualified team of professionals with technical competence and specific experience in all facets of civil, structural, and environmental engineering including, specifications for construction of new buildings and refurbishment of existing buildings. We also provide supervision and inspection services, cost analysis and project management for all types of construction projects. 

We have developed close links with other professional practices with whom we regularly partner to provide clients with a full design team service coordinated under one roof at Brady Hughes. These partners include Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, IT specialists, and Quantity Surveyors among others.

Our portfolio has a wide variety of Public, Community and Private Sector clients and encompasses most building types and project sizes. Recent projects include Duleek Business Park, Drogheda Port Company head office, North Drogheda Environs, and Drogheda Chamber Enterprise Centre amongst others. We have recently completed the phase 1 refurbishment of the Tholsel Building in Drogheda for Drogheda Borough Council, Refurbishment of the council chamber and corporate suites for Meath County Council, and reconstruction of Drogheda river rescue and Louth Coast guard  facilities for Drogheda Borough Council.
